[Richard will give a suffering sigh. Of course Howard's house is here. Of course. Any delusion they shared wouldn't be complete without Howard's damn house showing up.]

I suppose we'll be moving then.

[There's too much in that house to let it all go unchecked. Especially the things about him.]

We don't have to. But it's ours, yours and mine here. There was a number on it and the realtor said it was saved for me and you. I mean, we can stay where we are and burn this place down or just let it molder or whatever.

I've got the keys but I didn't go inside. It didn't feel right, not without you.

But looking in the window, it looks like my suitcase is right where I left it in the front hall.

[There's a pause as he contemplates. It's best if they stay there, besides, it gets them out of the stupid communal housing.]

Do you want me to come now?

[He doesn't want her sitting on Howard's porch forever.]

No, you're working. I'm just doing some unrelated research outside.

[Alex is playing hookie after her story hit and the woman was arrested.]

Oh, did you get anything from the fountain? You won't believe what I got!

[It comes with a faint smile.]

[Ask what it gave her, Richard. Ask her.]

[He's just going to not tell her what the mug is, but he's drinking out of it.]

[Alex just studies him and the mug for a moment before she brings her recorder into view. It's dinged up, so it's definitely Alex's complete with the PNWS sticker that's been falling off/picked at over the last year.]

Not even with this?

I already know what's on there. It won't bother me.

Only just enough to make sure that what we remember is the last thing on it. It is.

But you know what I was thinking, Richard? Well, I was thinking a few things actually but guess one, I guess.

You've already said you were thinking of burning down the house.

[11calls]

Yes, Richard, I'm finally planning on burning down your father's house with all of his creepy things inside. You've caught me.

[Totally deadpan. You're welcome.]

[That gets a soft chuckle from him.]

So I'm bringing kerosene home?

Nah, too traceable. Kerosene is really easy to find a source of forensically.

[And just in case it's not clear:]

I did a story on it once.

But what I was thinking instead was: all the stuff for making me dinner is inside, and if we're going to live here, we could probably start clearing out the old memories in it with lots of new and far more fun ones.

[And Alex is just going to brush her neck in her sundress. For reasons that aren't in the slightest bit suggestive.]

[And she gets another chuckle on that one, a smirk hidden behind his mug]

I make dinner every night, is it really so special now?

I would think so. After all, we've got plans and such, remember, Dr. Strand.

[But Alex's smile softens when she reads the mug, and she's clearly glad for it.]

I like the mug.

[She doesn't mention that she knows obviously where it came from.]

I'm not the one who forgot.

[He's not going to say anything about the mug. After all, he only has one daughter, and Alex has talked to her.]

But I am the one who found the house with all the stuff inside so that you could make it.

[Alex just grinned at him rather smugly for a moment.]

And if we're not burning it down... Well, we should probably make good use of the things inside of it. Like my suitcase for one.

[Look, a woman doesn't ask someone she loves to run away from his life without a little something sexy in her suitcase.]

What's in your suitcase that we're taking advantage of?

[His voice softened, curious despite himself. Also in slight awe of the fact that she seemed to plan ahead for a change.]

[And Alex is just going to give him a broad and teasing and flirting smirk.]

[There's a smirk there because good or bad, he will retaliate.]

Well, that's what happens when you're clairvoyant, I guess?

[Because the likelihood of either of those being true is pretty low in alex's brain at the moment. Yeah, she's so trolling him.]

[He rolls his eyes. Of course, something like this was going to come up eventually.]
