[Alex just studies him and the mug for a moment before she brings her recorder into view. It's dinged up, so it's definitely Alex's complete with the PNWS sticker that's been falling off/picked at over the last year.]

But you know what I was thinking, Richard? Well, I was thinking a few things actually but guess one, I guess.

Yes, Richard, I'm finally planning on burning down your father's house with all of his creepy things inside. You've caught me.

[Totally deadpan. You're welcome.]

[That gets a soft chuckle from him.]

So I'm bringing kerosene home?

Nah, too traceable. Kerosene is really easy to find a source of forensically.

I did a story on it once.

But what I was thinking instead was: all the stuff for making me dinner is inside, and if we're going to live here, we could probably start clearing out the old memories in it with lots of new and far more fun ones.

[And Alex is just going to brush her neck in her sundress. For reasons that aren't in the slightest bit suggestive.]

[And she gets another chuckle on that one, a smirk hidden behind his mug]

I make dinner every night, is it really so special now?

I would think so. After all, we've got plans and such, remember, Dr. Strand.

[But Alex's smile softens when she reads the mug, and she's clearly glad for it.]

I like the mug.

[She doesn't mention that she knows obviously where it came from.]

[He's not going to say anything about the mug. After all, he only has one daughter, and Alex has talked to her.]

But I am the one who found the house with all the stuff inside so that you could make it.

[Alex just grinned at him rather smugly for a moment.]

And if we're not burning it down... Well, we should probably make good use of the things inside of it. Like my suitcase for one.

[Look, a woman doesn't ask someone she loves to run away from his life without a little something sexy in her suitcase.]

[His voice softened, curious despite himself. Also in slight awe of the fact that she seemed to plan ahead for a change.]

[There's a smirk there because good or bad, he will retaliate.]

[Because the likelihood of either of those being true is pretty low in alex's brain at the moment. Yeah, she's so trolling him.]

[He rolls his eyes. Of course, something like this was going to come up eventually.]
