[Alex knew that he would do the whisper thing if she made the choice to get close to him like this, especially after pretending to ignore her.

So, she moved when he did, sliding between him and his desk, and straddling his lap, facing him.]

Of course. I'm concerned for the mess.

[He moves his hands to gently rest on her waist, still admitting to himself that it was crazy how they'd gotten from his refusing to return her calls to this. It would have been logical for someone like Alex to choose someone younger or more in line with what she enjoyed, not him.

Still, the thoughts didn't change the fact that they were like this, and that playing with Alex was, by far, one of his favorite past times. So he leaned in close, as if he were going to give in and kiss her before saying.]

Then you move.

[Never in her life, and probably much to his chagrin, Alex Reagan had never taken the logical route. It just wasn't in her to do that; instead she just forced a path where there hadn't been one before it and charged down it with her recorder in hand.

And of course it had let to countless calls and him being an ass who refused to kiss her.]

[Alex countered with a smirk and a raised brow.]

[He would always feel that he had good reason not to kiss her before she regained her memories.

Moving closer, one of his hands reached out to turn off his computer before he leaned back to watch her, pushing his chair out from where she was.]

Then I eat dinner alone. A shame really, I was planning on making braised beef tips in a red wine sauce.

[Alex didn't mean when she didn't have her memories, Alex meant right at this very moment. Still, she countered herself so she didn't fall off of his lap when he pushed his chair out, and Alex just smirked for a minute.]

You're talking to someone who just so happens to know the names of the people who deliver all the best take out, Richard Strand. I am impervious to your dinner threats.

[Teasing him, you bet.]

Implying that take out is better then my cooking will not attain your goal.

[He'll just stand now as if she isn't in front of him with a terribly sexy outfit on.]

[Alex manages to catch herself before she ends up on the floor, and she turns a bright shade of pink before she backs up to shove things away from the edge of her desk so she can sit on it, with her legs swinging. Self-consciously, her arms wrap around her chest before she lets out a huffy breath.

Fine. Back to business then.]

When do you want to move?

[Wait till they get home Alex. Wait till they get home.]

Now seems as good a time as any.

Are you done here then?

[Alex just raises a brow to him.]

I can meet you there if you want.

[She's not walking over there in these freaking heels, Richard. She'll die.]

[He raises a brow.]

You don't want to stay in that?

I hadn't planned on it, since it was so ineffective.

[Two can play at that game, Dr. Strand.]

Perhaps you just chose the wrong time and place.

[He raises a brow, try it at home and see what happens.]

We'll see.

[Alex can raise a brow too, Richard. And she's the one in the heels.]

[He's still taller, even with her in heels. Besides, do you REALLY want to see him in heels?

He starts to unbutton the coat she's wearing.]

We'll have our last meal in the apartment and then start moving. How far is it from the apartments?

[Alex is just going to look down at him unbuttoning the coat, and then raise her brow even further.]

Just what do you think you're doing?

Getting my coat.

[He finishes unbuttoning and moves to slide it off her shoulders.]

[Alex just looks up at him entirely amused for a moment before she leans forward and hooks her legs around his.]

My coat now. It definitely looks better on me.

But your coat wouldn't look good on me, and do you really want to leave this room looking like that?

[He'll ignore the leg hook and slide the coat off.]

But you could leave in your shirtsleeves. It' hot outside anyway.

[And she's just going to pout a bit.]

I swear sometimes you're impossible. I definitely would have had sex with myself on my desk if I showed up wearing this.

[He finishes pulling the coat off and tugs it from under her butt.]

It's a good thing you didn't, it would have been a mess.

[Alex just looks at him for a moment with a frown before she shakes her head.]

Okay. So one last dinner in the apartment and packing.

[He tugs at the lace over her stomach before letting it go.]

I still can't believe your father's house is here. It's weird. I mean, my suitcase is there and everything, just sitting where I left it in the entryway.

[It was still weird to think about, actually, that she had shown up with an overly packed suitcase and plane tickets and was set to just give up her life. In some ways it was both the most brave and the most stupid thing she'd ever done.

Other than wear lingerie and a trench coat to his office and expect that he was going to be impressed.]

It would have been stranger if the house had unpacked it for you.

[That was actually a creepy thought.]

Oh god. I definitely do not want something that's not me going through my luggage.

[Alex is just going to visibly shudder for a minute.]
