But what I was thinking instead was: all the stuff for making me dinner is inside, and if we're going to live here, we could probably start clearing out the old memories in it with lots of new and far more fun ones.

[But Alex's smile softens when she reads the mug, and she's clearly glad for it.]

[She doesn't mention that she knows obviously where it came from.]

[He's not going to say anything about the mug. After all, he only has one daughter, and Alex has talked to her.]

[Alex just grinned at him rather smugly for a moment.]

And if we're not burning it down... Well, we should probably make good use of the things inside of it. Like my suitcase for one.

[Look, a woman doesn't ask someone she loves to run away from his life without a little something sexy in her suitcase.]

[His voice softened, curious despite himself. Also in slight awe of the fact that she seemed to plan ahead for a change.]

[Yep, that would be her flirting and amused voice.]

[He's not actually, but it's enjoyable to watch her expressions.]

[Alex is just going to smirk at him, and try very badly to hide the shiver that his stupid voice brought about. Seriously, his stupid voice.

The thing is, she knows he's not, but there's that stupid voice anyway.

Maybe I should just pop inside really quickly then and grab my suitcase then...

[He noticed, and it brings a soft chuckle from him.]

[The feed goes dark for a few minutes, well, longer than a few, and when Alex calls back, she's not actually calling. More than that, she's not actually talking, instead she's sending a picture and it's taken not at Howard's house but rather at their apartment.

Sorry, decided to go Howard's house and books. Came home instead.

[Well, well that's a thing. It's a thing he's going to stare at for a few moments as he contemplates going home, but decides to play things out the right way.]
